Napoleon Police Officers’ Association
Welcome to the Napoleon Police Officers’ Association website. This website serves to provide information about the Association, the Executive Board, the International Union of Police Associations (I.U.P.A.), law enforcement news, as well as, serves as a means of donating to the Association, and signing up to become a member of the Association.
Napoleon, Ohio was founded in 1834 and it is located in on the Maumee River in Northwest Ohio. Due to the City’s location on the Maumee River, it has a long and vibrant history and it was named after the French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. It also serves as the County Seat for Henry County and the County’s Courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Napoleon’s economy is based on the manufacturing of a variety of goods and the major employer is Campbell’s Soup Company, which has their plant located on the southeastern end of the city. The Northwest Ohio Technology Society also calls Napoleon, Ohio home.
The Napoleon Police Officers Association, I.U.P.A. Local 240, is an association of officers that was chartered by the International Union of Police Associations, on December 5, 1989. Originally, there were 13 chartering members of Local 240 and the organization has served the officers of Napoleon, Ohio for over two decades. The goal of the association is to ensure legal protection for the members of the organization as well as to enhance the lives of not only the members of the organization, but their families as well through national partnerships such as Union Plus (www.unionplus.org).
